Description:

Aircon Energy was awarded a contract for the total retrofit of the SLO Health Campus in the summer of 2005. This is the fourth major project Aircon has performed for the County and serves as a testimonial to our ability to consistently deliver Results you can count on. This project is currently under construction and progressing ahead of schedule. The Hospital was first constructed in 1928 with ads made in 1958 and 1982 for the total 62,000 sq. ft. of space. The County stopped operation of the Hospital in 2003 and worked with Aircon to determine the future of the facility. Options including sale and total demolition were considered and the decision was made to convert the facility to class A office space.

Originally Aircon was selected to upgrade the comfort systems of the building. Through the in-depth design phase of the project the County decided that Aircon would be the best choice for all aspects of the project including interior tenant improvements.

Project Scope:

  • Complete lighting system renovations.
  • Central plant heating and cooling including a gas fired chiller.
  • Ventilation and air distribution systems.
  • Installation of a direct digital control (DDC) system.
  • Total IT and data system backbone.
  • Fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
  • Building electric system upgrade.
  • HVAC and domestic plumbing.
  • Asbestos and hazardous material abatement.
  • Building insulation.
  • Window and ceiling replacements.
  • Tenant improvements and general construction.
  • Other facility wide improvements.

Aircon is working with subcontractors for a majority of this project to help the County support the local contracting community. Rebates will be obtained through the building by design program.

Project is ahead of schedule and the price is the turnkey allowing for no unauthorized change orders.
